Do you guys actually cook from these cookbooks? I have a few if the ones mentioned and while I love looking through them, I never cook from them. What cookbook do you guys use the most to actually cook from?
OP here.. I cook from Momofuku (and Changs blog the Lucky Peach), you just have to really cut down proportions or be ready to freeze. Anything of Bittman's is great. As far as what cookbook I cook most from- I actually usually don't follow recipes unless I'm baking. I rely a lot of the folks at the Fresh Loaf for recipes on that. I love to pore over the cookbooks, get an idea and then use most of that to actually cook from. So, further to the "porn" question.. I JUST got David Leibowitz "My Paris kitchen" and made dinner from it. I can see many hours ahead just reading and flipping through. Ordered Ottolenghi and Plenty today. Thank you everyone for the ideas. Yes, I am OP, and I have a cookbook problem. But no one eating dinner at my house has ever complained about that.
