We often have more than one cook in the kitchen, so I'm leaning away from the corner configuration, based on the feedback here. And I am also seeing how if we do end up doing a corner sink, the  diagonal edge should be wider, to give more side-to-side room (and that this plan will "waste" a fair amount of counter space on the far side of the sink)

But without the corner sink, with the way things are laid out, i will have 2 full "blind" corners in the base cabinets, where the storage space is not very useable. With the sink in the corner, I would get to put in one of those carousels in the other corner, which seems like a much better option that the tetris game of trying to use shelf space that has no door directly in front of it.

As for the single vs double sink controversy...

For washing pots and pans, I'm very attached to being able to fill one sink with hot soapy water for washing, and then having the other side for rinsing. This seems like the easiest and most efficient way to do it. But now that I'm trying to figure out a new arrangement, and space is tight, I kind of wish I was a single bowl gal. :)[/quote]
