That goes for the state as well.[/quote] Well, I am going to say it one more time, if the revised return is filed before April 15, the original return is treated as superseded by the IRS. same goes for corporate taxpayers who file before March 15. If a revised return is filed after the original date of the return, then the form for amended return needs t be used, I.e. 1040X or 1120 X. If the OP waits to file an amended return after April 15, and pay the additional tax due at that time, interest and penalties will apply. Since OP e-filed with Turbotax, I don't think he will be able to e-file the second form. I recommend paper filing and attaching a statement to the second return to explain that the original return filed on so and so date is superseded and that the second return is filed to reflect change in taxable income due to XYZ.....[/quote]
