It just happened that they saw a polyp while doing mock transfer. It's good that they were able to catch it. But the goal of the mock transfer is not to look for polyps. Fibroids and polyps can be looked in to detail through either hysteroscopy or saline sonogram. Mock transfers are done to check orientation of cervix, uterine cavity (whether it looks normal for transfer), checking the size of catheter and if it's able to go in the uterus the way your RE wants it.
