Yes, give him another chance. Those are some minor appearance issues that an easily be changed if he is willing. You have no clue at this point if that's the case or if you like his personality. My BF is like that -- and we've been dating 1.5 years. He's 48. At that age, people don't change quickly, and I kept my mouth shut for probably a year! Then slowly, when he would comment, so would I. We've gone shopping, I've bought him clothes for presents, and he is now ready for some new glasses. On our first date, I wasn't sure if I was attracted. That went on for a while, but personality-wise, he was attractive. to me So I just figured, how shallow of me to care about his clothes or hair. Eventually I found out that he's great in bed, and that helps. :) I'm not perfect and he thinks that, at least physically, I am hot. If people sit there thinking about it, they may think I'm younger, more attractive, whatever...and that might be true. He says all the time that people probably wonder how he landed me -- and even if that is not true, that's what he thinks. Not a bad position to be in. I care more about how he treats me than whether he dresses the way I prefer. He's been mostly willing to buy some new things. Especially when he gets compliments at work and people have started noticing his new things. After we went shopping recently, he was excited to pick out clothes for the next day at work. That made me smile. Still a work in progress, but a lot better than the first day. I should add, that I did not set out to change him. I accepted that sometimes his outfits would make me cringe inside -- and that is just clothing. Much better to focus on his good qualities.
