They were having a special in which they would match rates. I have been with Navy Federal for years and felt more comfortable. I also worked for a broker and a bank - so I made sure to compare Apples with Apples. Pen Fed is good- but their fixed rates have usually been higher than broker rates. There are good brokers and shady brokers - just do your homework.[/quote]
