so Liss is what drove this?
LISS was a huge funding stream for them. There are some private pay but they are extremely expensive for no degrees and just nice folks doing a good job. I suspect many fewer families got LISS and instead of adapting their fees, they changed the model to insurance based but then they need licensed providers which most of the old staff were not. It would be ashamed is DOv and some of the folks left as they were the core of the program and built it to what it is. We ended up leaving when our LISS ran out so I am just speculating that LISS is an issue.
Just b/c you didn't get LISS money this time around doesn't mean other people weren't paying for Motion Education through LISS. This correlation doesn't make any sense.
A lot of their funding was Liss. There are some private pay. Some people did get Liss but a lot fewer than years prior.
No, not a lot less people, but a new new people have been getting LISS. In fact, recreational and therapeutic for LISS has stayed the same or increased (see page 23): http://www.md-council.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/LISS-Report-Dec-2013-FINAL.pdf This report is from 2013. The changes started in July 2014 that changed it to a lottery vs. first come, first serve, limit the funding to $2000 where it was $3000, and have twice yearly lotterys (money is split in half). The overall amount may have stayed the same but there has also been a greater demand as more people know about it. They also put in other limits which do not impact us but will many such as you cannot receive liss if you are on other programs. The budget for LISS has been steadily decreasing over the last six years (as pretty much any social services spending). So LISS probably isn't having quite the impact you imagine at ME, rather it's probably overarching negative changes at Dynatmite.
