Just had the same scenario in our new house when we moved in 6 months ago. We sold every white appliance (fridge for $450, dishwasher for $150, old double ovens for $100 and are working on the electric stove) and bought new appliances. Nothing beats the huge Wolf/Viking ranges!!! We've remodeled the kitchen now too and I can barely remember the awful mess it was before.
Did you use the same appliances after the remodel
Well some appliances we couldn't use until after the remodel. Like the double oven and the range (we went electric to gas). But we started our remodel pretty much right away after moving in. Why wait? We wanted to enjoy the new kitchen as long as possible.
That's different than the OPs situation which is waiting to do a kitchen reno. Obviously it makes sense to buy new appliances as part of a renovation. It doesn't make sense to replace new appliances if you are potentially going to have to do it again it a few years (or be stuck with keeping appliances that may not fit the new design). An exception might be a dishwasher. If OP knows for sure she wants a stainless DW in the new kitchen then I would get a Miele now. DWs are standard sizes so it will fit.
