We picked Vienna ES because it is a small school and no AAP program. The staff and teachers have been wonderful. However, I have not gotten the community feel that I was expecting. There were a few classroom kindergarten events and the parents hardly spoke to each other. Most of the families are also very wealthy.  there is one day per week I desperately needed help with after school pick up so I asked about 5 different neighbors if they wanted to car pool. I could pick their children up from after school care three days per week if they would be willing to help us out on that one day per week. No one was able to do that and definitely not interested in car pooling. That does not make people unfriendly. We all have busy schedules and trying to juggle various responsibilities. The point I'm trying to make is that we have found that it lacks a community feel. In hindsight, a school and community like Olde Creek would have been a better fit. [/quote]
