It's totally up to a judge. I had a friend who's husband cheated on her she filled for divorce and lost custody because she took her children to a therapist her husband disapproved of. She didn't see her children for 2 years and her parents spent 300k fighting it. She now sees her kids every other weekend. Get a good lawyer because it does matter
This just sounds ridiculous! What? There has to be waaaaay more to this story! Did she take the kids to some sort of vodoo healer or some other crazy? Really, this cannot have happened in this country.
Her husband was high profile and he had a great lawyer. He told her if you leave me I will destroy you and it happened. Men with power and money tend to win unfortunately.
Yep. There was abuse in my mother's case, and she ended up getting primary physical and father got legal- WTF? So father was in charge of every decision, even though judge deemed him unfit to see his children. Judge Robert Thompson, also known for telling a 12 year old that she was asking for it by dressing in a skirt around an older yard worker who raped her. There is so much misogyny in our courts system, and also just plain abuse of money/power. My father was very wealth and spend a couple hundred k on the divorce, whereas my mom was a SAHM, so he hired a killer lawyer.
