I have heat pump that does not start to run frequently until the temperature is below 30, however, I keep my heat set at 64 or 65. If I set it at 72, it would run all the time. Plus your emergency heat may have kicked on when it was cold. In that case, your heat pump acts like a big space heater, which costs a lot. [/quote]
