You sound very angry.  I'm truly sorry about that.  I am not just a "stranger on the internet" anymore.   The OP reached out in distress and I responded.  I've never met her  but I am connected with her just as we are all connected.  You don't know that God has not been answering prayers.  God isn't a magic genie who lives in a bottle and grants wishes.  He is the Source of all that is.  The Creative Consciousness that binds us all together.  I believe He (She, It, ...whatever label you choose) sees a much bigger picture.  [b]I believe that it is His desire for the OP to have happiness, peace, and prosperity.[/b]  I also believe that our thoughts create our reality.  Affirmative prayer creates a shift in consciousness and that can bring about major change.

Does God desire this for all his children?  If so, why are so many people suffering and why does he choose to help some people and not others?

I hope everyone who is looking for work finds a job - that goes for people of all religions and no religion.  I also hope that people who need a job the most (e.g. with children to support, or about to lose their home) find a job first, before people with lots of money in the bank and family supports.[/quote]

Dear friend, of course God desires happiness, prosperity, and peace for all of his children.  However, we are not puppets on a string that God controls.  If we were, we could never ever grow. We were created in love with free will.  We are on this planet for a very short time.  We are here to learn to love.  That is our highest calling.  Because we are not perfect and because we have free will, we screw up.  A lot.  And unfortunately because we are imperfect our bad decisions cause pain and suffering to the people that we share this planet with.  Imagine a world where every person was more enlightened, more loving, more compassionate.  We wouldn't have hungry children, war, crime,..... We aren't there yet.  I think we will be one day.  But we just aren't there yet.

However, history is full of way-showers.  People who were more enlightened.  People who were closer to their Source/God.  People who understand that the answer to all of life's challenges truly is that we learn to love one another.    We are about to celebrate one of those peoples' Birthdays.  And we know from listening to them that we can change our lives and the lives of those around us simply with our thoughts.  Our thoughts have power.  Affirmative prayer is just one of many ways of affecting our reality.

Do you have any direct response to the question posed above about people suffering? or is "free will" the whole thing?   OP didn't choose  to be unemployed, so free will wasn't an issue there, and it certainly is not an issue for spouse or children being affected by unemployment - or the fact that some people's unemployment is devastating and other people who have more financial assets can use the time to be more attentive to family.

You point of view is not new to me -- so no need to explain it further.    I just don't think it applies very well to the situation at hand.  If it comforts OP, that's nice.[/quote]
