Lowe's suggested a black top but I didn't want a very dark top on the vanity and I wanted the vanity top to match the bathtub surround.

I think the overall problem is the glaring bright white type colors...and they are all light light light and there are no neutrals...It all looks too modern and bright.  Bright grey tile with white grout (it was supposed to be off white but it sure doesn't look off white) and the glowing white toilet and the light cream walls and none of this matches the vanilla vanity...

Re: double sink; my DH has another bathroom to use - also off Master bedroom suite so we have "his" and "her" bathrooms.  The layout just worked out this way. (Believe me, we are not wealthy.) His just has shower and single sink and toilet; the "hers" bathroom is slightly bigger and has tub only with vanity and toilet.  So we don't really need or want a double sink and I would rather have counter space (even if DH didn't have his own bathroom.) My kids use a different bathroom.

My DH is hating the idea of ripping up the tile and says I will have to do this myself or wait until he gets other things finished first (with our addition)...but the tile was his suggestion and I said okay and now he agrees that it is not a great choice.

Re: a green wall color; our master bedroom is a light sage..so I wanted the bathroom paint to coordinate with that.[/quote]
