Can you recommend what an 8 year old could take to get some relief from this lingering cough that worsens at night? Other than the salt water gargle, would any of these meds have a dose for a child? Thanks
I've been giving my 5 yr old Claritin Jr when he gets a cough. He has a tendency for it to develop into wheezing and asthma and we found that adding in the Claritin Jr has really helped minimize the asthma related coughing. Our pediartrician suggested it with the thought behind it that it could be allergy related post nasal drip that is contributing to the cough and irritating the bronchi - especially lying down at night.
