I remember a lot about mostly everyone I was remotely friendly with, which is a decent percentage b/c it was small for a public school, about 130 kids per graduating class. I wouldn't say I peaked in high school, but I would say it was a very "heightened" time. People tend to remember things that are connected with strong emotions. You'll never forget the day your grandma died, when your husband proposed, etc. Well for me, my teenage years were very emotional. WHen things were good with my friends, they were the BEST FRIENDS EVER ANY GIRL COULD EVER HAVE OMG BFFTDUPLYLAS etc etc. The funny things that happened were funny enough to laugh for days. When things were not good with my friends (b/c this was high school after all), it was the end of the world. It literally felt like there was no reason to live. I remember so many specific things that happened wiht my high school boyfriend, because my feelings for him were just so intense. We would never have been compatible long-term, but all of my relationships thereafter, including wiht my DH, were mature, healthy, and totally different from that. I think this is pretty normal and has to do with teenage hormones and developmental stuff. I was also going thorugh a lot of family drama at that time. But yeah, I remember a lot.
