I don't think it's racist to point out that a child is not an orphan if s/he has a father. How many fathers are affected by this tragedy? Or do they know who the fathers are? It's not an unusual question, considering this information isn't mentioned in the article and would be important points to include (survivors, etc). It's the elephant in the room.[/quote]

You're complaining because the Washington Post story did not specifically discuss who the fathers were of the 8 children, [b]including a six-month-old[/b], whose mothers just died in a car wreck? Maybe the reporter should have said to the family, "Oh, it's so sad, now could you please show me the children's birth certificates and describe the relationship between the father and the mother for each one?"[/quote]
