Glad someone started this thread. I'm the poster who started the thread about my DD wanting to attend school in California. She's not interested in a big school where there are hundreds of students in a class, but more of a "community" feel on campus. Are there any medium sized schools with diversity that one could recommend?
Claremont colleges or Harvey Mudd. Great programs and worth private tuition
And damn hard to get into. And I would not necessarily recommend Harvey Mudd for some majors. Very strong STEM. Not so sure it's strong in other majors like Econ. Most public univs. in CA are huge. If you want medium/small, look into private. But, also, cannot stress enough, look at the school through the lens of what major you want. Different schools have different strengths, and most large companies know which schools have a strong program in the particular field of study. Also, to the other PP that called SJSU meh... a recent article found that the #1 schools that Apple hired from was... SJSU. Obviously depends on the major, but don't knock it if you have no clue. SJSU has a strong Comp Science program. A lot of companies in SV hire from there.
