The cost difference is negligible per gallon (if you are painting a room, maybe not for a house exterior) and you can get very different quality in terms of pigmentation and durability between the cheaper stuff and the pricier paints. I've used all kinds of paint--BM, Farrow & Ball, Fine Paints of Europe, Behr. I think each has its strengths depending on the application. [/quote]
