I just converted an old iphone to a Go phone. $2 a day when used. Unlimited text and talk for that day. no data.
Could you give more details? What is a Go phone? This sounds great.
OP here - thanks for the tips. All these options sound good but this one in particular. Though I just googled it and it might be too involved for me :)
I took my phone to an ATT store and they did it for me. You can also purchase $25 phones there that just call and text. More for one with a slide out keyboard for easier texting. I love it. My 8 year old son goes to one class on the weekends where I want him to have a phone. He takes it, and can call in and emergency. But in the mean time it costs only the $25 to preload the phone. That does expire in 2 months I believe. So you will have minimal charges. I also take it to the beach with me so I won't feel as bad if I lose it, the heat kills it, or it's stolen. And I've given it to international guests to use while staying with us. Much cheaper than if they had to use their own country's phone.
