They can look flattering on most people, it's just a matter of finding the right brand for your body type.

I'm pear-shaped, and bootcut make me look short and dumpy. I don't wear heels, so I need jeans I can wear with flat shoes; skinny jeans make me look much neater and more put-together. When they first came out, I was like many other of the posters, talking about how ridiculous and unflattering they were. But, of course, I hadn't tried them on. When I did, I realized how much better I looked in them than in bootcut jeans.

I've had some luck with Gap always skinning and legging jeans. I really like Madewell skinny skinny. [/quote]
