We spent two weeks in a beautiful house with a pool in Corolla (OBX) in August. It was $3,800 for the rental and our monthly food budget was only $300 higher. Gas was probably $100. We didn't do a lot of activities beyond the beach, pool, bike riding etc. Beach house rentals are not exciting, but can be super relaxing. [/quote]
