we bought our house in Burtonsville 7 yeas ago before we had kids. we thought schools would improve by the time we are ready to send our kids to school. well it is time and things got only worse. the MoCo "red zone" only got bigger. Last year i had a major panic attack when i saw the detailed score card for our school. our neighbors were telling us the schools are nice... but their kids are more interested in travel sports then academics. and th older kids barely got into a local collage. we spent a month debating on what to do and finally decided that we are going private. [b]DD is 3 grade levels ahead in math and reading. There is no way a school with low scores could accommodate kids like that.[/b] We thought about moving but we love our house. honestly i wish we did not buy this house 7 y ago. We did not realize that academics would become our top priority. now it is too complicated and expensive to move. so we are forced to pay for private and also drive all over to pick up and drop off kids.
