Well, this is why she is closer to SIL's kids. Tell your child no instrument and to not ask grandma for it bc the answer is no. The rest of the stuff is probably just her venting. Oh, and it is cheaper to go to Mcdonalds and get a dollar double cheeseburger than it is to go buy hamburger meat, cheese, buns, pickles, onion. Since you already do to communicate with her often then it should not be difficult to ignore or you could just stop participating in the phone calls.[/quote]

He communicates with her minimally because she isn't so nice to him and it is simply because of different lifestyles.  She has much more in common with SIL than she does him and me.  Period.   [/quote]
