The weight thing only comes to my mind because SHE brings it up:  her weight is only a concern to me from a health standpoint.  I have never commented on it to her or anyone else. She makes fun of us on a regular basis, and I made the weight comparison to point out the obvious lifestyle differences.  The comments:

"Live a little... can't they just have one honeybun?"

"What are you gonna let me get them from the candy isle?"

"You better not let your Dad see you eating that chip... heh heh..." (said with my husband or me in the room)

Seriously?  I'm the asshole?

Believe me... my kids get junk food, she just looks down on us because we don't give them junk food freedom like she and my SIL do.  I can't tell you the number of times I've seen my nephew with a donut and a slurpee, despite the fact that he has had teeth pulled from cavities.  Its sad to me.  Yes, we all make different parenting decisions, and yes, I'm far from perfect, but I'll tell you this:  I WILL NOT shoulder the blame for my MIL being an asshole and making poor financial or health decisions.
