I am against the term Moderate Muslim. It somehow implies that Muslims can only be good if they do not adhere completely to their faith but do so in a moderate way. It implies that Orthodox Islam is violent and doesn't have its place in western society and somehow, an Orthodox Muslim by definition is an extremist, terrorist or what not. The irony is by definition Islam is moderate, the very tenants of our religion tell us that we have to always choose the middle ground, and we can't be extreme. So the essence of Islam and definition of Muslim in itself means to be moderate which makes the term moderate Muslim redundant..

Having said that,  there are radical Muslims and extremists who use religion to convert the masses to their own agenda. The majority of Muslims are against them, but do you think FoxNews will have us on air saying that?  I have seen thousands of Muslims speak against them, march at 9-11 but didn't get any air time. We do not control the media and who they choose to show on tv. But they would rather show someone like Ossama than Muslima even though more than 90% of Muslims might be like Muslima[/quote]
