Does it matter? Best not to muddy the waters with science.
Right - science hadn't been invented yet. I think back then people thought that men planted the seed and it simply grew in the woman - so going by the beliefs of the time, Jesus was all God's DNA. But then DNA hadn't been invented yet, either, so it's hard to know.
DNA wasn't invented! It was discovered.
That's right -- it was there all along, but God didn't mention it in the bible, or connect it in any way to the birth of his son. Why not?
God does talk about embryology: "Man WE did create From a quintessence (of clay); Then WE placed him As ( a drop of) sperm In a place of rest, firmly fixed; Then WE made the sperm Into a clot of congealed blood; Then of that clot WE made A (foetus) lump; then WE Made out of that lump Bones and clothed the bones With flesh; then WE developed Out of it another creature. So blessed be ALLAH, The Best to create!" [AL-QUR'AN 23:12-14] ”The which (embryo) We placed in a place of settlement, firmly fixed for a period (of gestation), determined. For We do determine, for We are the best to determine (things). (77: 21-23). “O mankind! If ye have a doubt about the Recreation (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a chewed-like lump of flesh, formed and unformed, in order that We may manifest (Our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term.” (22: 5) .
