I don't know about pricing because I am not in the neighborhood, but Tenleytown had excellent schools for elementary, middle, and high schools. Good luck!
Tenleytown is Dc, right ?
Right. If you are going to be working in NoVA and you want MCPS, you want the 20816 zipcode so you can easily get to Virginia via Chain Bridge or the Beltway At Clara Barton Pky. If you also want diversity, you want the part of 20816 that feeds to Westland MS and B-CC HS instead of Pyle and Whitman. B-CC is not particularly convenient to the neighborhoods in 20816 but Westland and the elementary schools - Westbrook in particular - are. So if you're doing drop off and pickup with ES and MS they are right there and your HS kid will need to be more independent.
Agree that 20816 is a good choice if you can find rental houses. I live in 20816 and BCC is very convenient to us. In fact I think it's about the same distance (2-3 miles) from our house as Whitman, which is where we are zoned. MCPS provides bus service. I don't know anyone who would drive their kids to 3 different schools when the bus picks up and drops off nearby. At Whitman parents do sometimes pick up after sports practice, but many kids also take the RideOn bus home. BCC has even better public transportation options. Our MS has an activity bus for after school activities. If the OP needs child care usually that is on site or the kids can take the school bus to the after school provider.
