We use her and love her, but as the other PP said, a solo practitioner isn't for everyone. But one of our kids suffers from asthma and food allergies and she always calls us back and makes good referrals. Definitely trust your gut. We had no idea who to use and rather than interview peds we went with Dr. Barnes since friends of ours with the same leanings and inclinations used her. We figured we could always switch if something was amiss. Good luck.
PP here - I think the fact that she never took it seriously was my issue. That, and if you're solo - that's fine - but have a good doctor be your on call doc. It shouldn't take that long for a call back. With CP&A it was within 30 minutes. At night, too. I could see Dr Barnes Marshall being better, in my opinion, for an older kid (pre-teen). But, I will say that we never had trouble getting an appointment at the last minute with her, which was good.
