Then don't answer if you only answer when paid. Some attorneys answer legal questions on this site -- not giving legal advice, but explaining the law -- and I've found that useful. If I was an attorney, I would do the same.[/quote]

People are on DCUM for fun. I have done all kinds of things for others and for the community for free IRL but if you don', then fine. Obviously telling someone about the law on an anonymous site does not compete with your ability to make a living. Some lawyers have a certain amount of their time set aside for pro bono work anyway -- some do it for YEARS, IRL. Plus there are all kinds of free legal sites online. I spend a lot of time on DCUM so this is where I would go for answers for all kinds of things. (There are doctors, pediatricians and researchers on DCUM who also share info for free here. Plus the HR person. Thank you to them all.).[/quote]
