My skinny boy, age 11, is a very good, happy, competitive soccer player. He plays in rec/house and has been an all star every season. The skinny guys are often the fastest! My DH was a collegiate soccer player and could be aptly described as skinny. Don't worry.
what's his height/weight percentile if you don't mind? the athletic boys i know are all beginning to show some muscles in arms/legs.
Hi! I assume you mean my DS and NOT my DH? :) DS, age 11 is 63% height and 25% weight--just had a physical this week. He was my biggest newborn - 8.8 lbs. at birth, but since toddlerhood his weight has hovered at about 25th%.
My 14 yo plays competitive soccer (region 1 and EDP) and he is 50% in height and 25% weight. Middle school was rough since he plays against kids that have gone through puberty and have man legs. Make sure you get enough calories in him... Soccer players basically run a 5K every game. So 3 5Ks on a tournament weekend. I feed him like he is a marathon runner. He is on track to be 6ft but that is a few years ahead of him. He did martial arts so he is not afraid of being hit by bigger kids.
