Personally I am not for or against divorce but object to those who claim/believe that it is always better to stay together for he kids. I grew up in one of those households and it wasn't better. which does not mean divorce is always better either. every situation is unique? why are some people opposed to divorce no matter what no matter what?
At least on here, very few, if any people have that philosophy. This isn't 1955.
Well too bad it is not. The decline of the American family, the total disregard for marriage (divorce rates at 50%) and the resulting broken homes are tied to higher incarceration rates and more poverty for kids coming from broken homes. The statistical facts are irrefutable. http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/1999/06/broken-families-rob-children-of-their-chances-for-future-prosperity When you enter into a marriage you make vow for better or for worse. Except in cases of abuse, substance abuse, or habitual infidelity, raising the kids in a stable home should be paramount. Divorce should be a last resort, not the first option.
