I delivered my first 10 weeks early. My doctor only delivered at Sibley but once she discovered that I was in pre-term labor, she said that Georgetown was the best hospital and NICU for high risk pregnancies and she called Dr. Collea and he admitted me. Both Dr. Collea and Dr. Landy saw me (they tried for several days to stop the labor before deciding to deliver my son) but a different doctor actually delivered my son. The NICU is the best in the Tri-state area and while I was there, babies were being transferred and medivaced there from all over. I met with Dr. Collea and Dr. Pinkert for pre-conception consultations for my second and I think I decided to go to Dr. Pinkert (he delivers at Holy Cross and Shady Grove) for my high risk care because he is much closer to where I live but if I happen to experience Pre-term labor, I would like to deliver again at Georgetown and Dr. Collea said he would admit me because I would want my child to be taken care of by the Georgetown NICU. In response to a prior poster - I do believe that the Georgetown MFM doctors did change their policy recently and they are seeing patients full time (no longer just on a consultations basis) but that would need to be verified by the practice. If you are still deciding, you can always do a tour of the NICUs. I was so impressed with the amazing care my son received during his five week say.
