No. He is an honest, hardworking Member of Congress. Not flashy, just solid. OTOH, I hope the Dems win the seat.
John Faust was a total do-nothing as the Dranesville Supervisor, who sucked up to wealthy real estate developers. I would be happy if he were gone from the BOS although I expect Comstock will win. Wolf is a decent human being.
Agree with your thoughts on Faust. Comstock is the best candidates for one who will serve in the style of Wolf. She and her family grew up in my church and so I have run into them in many occasions. She will serve us well. Let's just get her elected first!
If you like Comstock, then you must have been right at home with the Bush/Cheney/Scooter/Rumsfeld crowd. It is amazing looking back to see how incompetent they were, Biggest Recession in history, with a banking crisis of epic proportions, after 12 years of economic growth. Add in the optional war on Iraq and the mis-management of Afghanistan. Obama inherited an economic disaster. 2008 was not that long ago. Comstock has occupied a variety of political roles, including lead investigator for the House Government Reform Committee in the 1990s, opposition researcher, crisis manager, and chairwoman of Scooter Libby's legal defense fund. While chairing Scooter Libby's legal defense fund, she leaked several bits of partisan nonsense to the press, allegedly attempting to taint the jury pool. The judge was very upset with Barbara Comstock and threatened her with a gag order. http://firedoglake.com/2006/04/13/about-time/ Barbara Comstock said the supporters would serve on an advisory committee for a private group organized to aid in Mr. Libby’s defense, to be known as the Libby Legal Defense Trust. The supporters are most likely to assist in both organizing the fund-raising drive and providing money themselves. Among others who have committed to the effort are Howard Leach and the lobbyist Wayne Berman, who were fund-raisers for President Bush’s political campaigns; Bill Paxon, the former Republican congressman from New York; former Ambassadors Mel Sembler and Dennis Roth; Richard Carlson, president of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting from 1992 to 1997; the magazine publisher Philip Merrill, who is also a former president and ex-chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Well, then just vote for Foust and be done with it. You sound like you are not from this area anyway so therefore you must love his sell-outs to real estate developers so you can afford to live here. Good luck to you and, again, Mr. Wolf, now I am speaking to you: thanks for your steadfast service for VA-10 over the years. You will be missed.
The one MAJOR issue to the area is transportation and Comstock voted against improving transportation, trying to get in good with the tea party types. Who was the other republican from mclean to hit the big time? was a stand up guy, oh yeh, Bob , that was his name. I think he is in the news recently. McConnell, another great decent human being, another fine republican from the VA10 area. The Republican and his wife are charged in a 14-count indictment with accepting more than $165,000 from Jonnie Williams, the former CEO of dietary supplements maker Star Scientific Inc. In exchange, they would help promote his products, according to prosecutors. Those gifts include shopping sprees for designer clothes and accessories, a Rolex watch, $15,000 in catering expenses for a daughter's wedding, golf outings and a lake-house vacation stay that included use of Williams' Ferrari, according to the indictment. Comstock and McConnell, what a team. They are so much better than Foust.
