Long time lurker, first time poster. Our daughter has been accepted into the youngest group (she's 3) at Lee and we also live in the neighborhood. We've been in touch with the school since they expressed interest in finding a spot (albeit temporary) at Shaed. There is occasionally a lagtime in response in communication, but right now you're talking about 3 staff balancing getting the school off the ground and enrolling their first class. Every interaction with them in person (and via email) has been fantastic, and it'll be worth the patience. Re: Edgewood. We've had our house here for 7+ years- there have been huge changes in that time, all of them positive. You've moving into a neighborhood with an ever-increasing number of young kids and families, it's relatively quiet, we've got great neighbors (old-timers and new residents) who are friendly, the community group Friends of Edgewood runs a fantastic community garden at the rec center (which has nice spots for kids to play). Regarding the safety factor- I think that it's on par with other parts of the city. Ultimately, I think the redevelopment of Shaed School by Inspired Teaching and Lee will only do great things for the area!
