Hhi of 800k 2 million dollar home paid off. Savings of about 1.5 million. We don't spend a lot on jewelry. We take nice vacations. I drive a Honda pilot. DH drives a range rover. DH also has a Porsche. We eat out a lot but not at extremely expensive restaurants very often. We spend alot at wholw foods. We are savers but also rather young. I'm 28 and dh is 34. We could save a whole lot more and I get nervous when we splurge.
Wow, congrats! What line of work are you in? I need to get in that field!
I'm a SAHM my dh has a security business.
Securing what? We can afford to splurge. What I don't understand is people who want this and that and are constantly looking at the Joneses, trying to keep up. Its just not realistic to drive new cars every two years (and we all know its stupid to lease), not have your houses paid off, buy the best clothing, drink the best wine, ad infinitum. I mean really, it has to stop somewhere. Most people I know are planning for their futures, and their investments do not allow for blowing all of their money. If you are wondering why you don't have this or that, you really have only yourself to blame.
