I also use Michael West for my Hashi's/Hypo. I first did Levo for about a year and was not getting rid of symptoms. I wanted to switch to Armour based on research that I had done and he agreed. Rx is different levels (ie something like 125 Levo =80 of Armour). I started to feel better after about 4-5 weeks. Weight gain stopped and was able to start losing. It is very difficult to lose however. If I restrict to 1200 healthy calories and exercise 3-5 days a week, I can usually lose 1-2 lbs. One weekend off a diet with alcohol, I will go back to same place. It really does take patience and dedication. I got pregnant in sept if last year and called Dr West immediately (as anyone who has Thyroid issues is to do), he immediately took me off Armour and back on Synthroid (I forgot the reason but tenement reading this so wasn't surprised) I think it has to do with the inconsistency Armour can have with each Rx due to it not being an exact formula like Synthroid. I had MC in Dec and have decided to stay on Syn (no particular reason), just feel okay so didn't want to fix it if it was broken. I say that to say that I am a big fan of Armour and my personal experience is that it gave me my life back, lifted the fog. Also if you are in a lower level of Syn (like 50), the price ends to being lower. When I was that low, the Syn and Levo were like $10 and Armour was $6. The higher the dosage, the more expensive. Now I'm paying $35 for 200 Syn. Make sure you take at same time every day, sleep 7-8 hours a day, drink lots of water, and take multi vitamin (at night if you take Rx in am). It took me 2-3 years to get this all worked out a well as 3 doctors.
