A close friend has had death threats against her, her husband, and their children.  Some not at all credible, and some terrifying.  She spend years having security know everything about her family.  Where she was, when she and her husband fought, and about what, everything.  It's not funny, and it's nothing to write "LMAO" about.  And, yes, "poor parents" is something that I think is a reasonable thought when you think of these families who are, really, always at risk in a way that most of the rest of us are not.  Grow up. No, I'm not.  I have no idea what that other thread is about.  The earlier string that I quoted was NOT about the show, it was about a poster saying she's not concerned about these things, and a later poster referring to the "poor" Washington parents who do.  I don't have any reason to worry about these security concerns for my family at all, but many people in Washington do, including a close friend. It is not funny, it is not something to write LMAO about. It is sad and frustrating and the reality of living in a world where there are people who want to do harm. I would never, ever write anything like LMAO about a soldier's physical risk being in theater. Nor would I write such a thoughtless phrase about children who are at risk for being targets of sexual predators as has happened at some local schools. Bad things happen, and they sometimes come in the form of threats against our families and children. That may not be how your family feels at risk, but it is a reality for others. So, yes, please grow up and stop your stupid, thoughtless comments about laughing your ass off that someone else faces threats to their spouse and children. How narrow is your experience that you can't understand how tasteless that is?[/quote]
