Class sizes are smaller at Janney which is an excellent school, and the middle school is also very well regarded now.  I have actually thought about moving over the MD line because we could get more for our money (or at least more choices) but it hits me as a negative to change schools.  Also, I believe it is a longer walk to Friendship Heights unless you are really close to Western.  [/quote]

We chose AU Park over neighborhoods just over the MD line b/c we liked the neighborhood so much.  Lots of families, Turtle Park and Wilson Pool, sidewalks throughout the neighborhood (by contrast, we saw lots of neighborhoods w/ no sidewalks over the MD line), etc.  We're 5 blocks from the Tenleytown metro which is great.  At the time we bought, it also seemed like we were getting a little more for our money in AU Park.  Not sure if that would be the case now.[/quote]
