But I think you could be right re Robin. Does anyone remember the episode where Robin found out that she cannot have kids?  Yet didn't the episode hint at something else?  I didn't see last night's episode--am a season behind.  But I recently saw an episode where they initially made it seem like Robin & Barney were talking about adopting kids, but it was a fake out.

Now that I think about it--they always show scenes of Lily and Marshall in their 50s/60s, but never Ted all grey.  Or am I wrong? I can only think of beach house scenes, but those didn't actually happen.

They ended the infertility episode with Robin never did have kids but she was never alone. Or something like that. I guess maybe the mother could be in the hospital and that's why he is telling the kids this story. At the end all the characters will go and visit the mother in the hospital and she ends up making it through. [/quote]
