Agree with the original poster. We used to live in the area.  People use Macomb and Newark to cut through so it is super congested already.  Cathedral Commons took away a giant parking lot and they are not replacing it with the equivalent number of parking spots. Or, maybe they are, but I don't think it intends to accomodate all visitors. Either way, parking will be unpleasant. [/quote]

I agree.  Someone told me that Cathedral Commons is, like, the largest active project west of Rock Creek Park right now, basically two whole city blocks.   It's going to be a huge traffic magnet for the area.  And, while they're building parking, the developer got zoning requirements waived so there will be less parking than the norm.  There will also be a 7-story retail and apartment building that will have no retail parking.  Blocks of Macomb and Newark by Wisconsin are pretty narrow for today's traffic -- if they have to be widened, the area will lose even more parking.  If I lived in Cleveland Park or McLean Gardens, I'd be trying to figure out ASAP how to make them quasi-barricaded areas -- like Chevy Chase MD east of Friendship Heights or Edgemoor west of downtown Bethesda![/quote]
