I'm not a car person and neither is DH so we wouldn't drop crazy money on a car.  Maybe in the distant future when the kids are out of the house and we are looking at retirement and the house is paid off if I want to drive a luxury car I might consider it in the sense of for once in my life I want to drive  X type of car and I literally don't have anything else I want/need to spend money on.  You certainly can't take it with you but you can't get it back either if you end up needing it and blew it on something that lost 25% of the value when you drove it off the lot.

if I were planning to replace the car anyway, I would still look in the price range I would have pre-bonus and replace it when you would have pre-bonus.  I would only do it now if I thought I could get a better deal now versus maybe in the fall.  I might upgrade the package a little with the bonus money or pay cash iinstead of taking out a loan and put what would have been a car payment towards the master bathroom fund. I wouldn't add my full bonus amount to the car price range I.e. look at cars 20K more because I got a 20K bonus.[/quote]
