Have one and I love it.  I am completely devoted to my child and believe a certain school is right for her.  I consider myself fortunate to be able to spend my time thinking about her application rather than trolling the Internet to harass strangers.

If you are "completely devoted" to your child and spend your time "thinking about her application," then that other poster is exactly right.  You need to get a life.

Being completely devoted to a child does not mean I spend ALL of my time thinking about her application, or even about her.  Nor does it mean I have tied my entire self up in her life.  I can spend some time thinking about her application and still have plenty of time to lead my own life.  My devotion as a parent, however, means I want the best for her.  I know what option is best and I want it to work out.  Will my thinking about it make it so?  Of course not, but I am a normal human and I think about things that matter to me from time to time.[/quote]

So if your daughter doesn't get into this particular school, you believe her life will be somehow diminished?  You definitely need to get perspective.  There is no one perfect school.  And the school that you think is perfect now may not be in a few years, especially if she is young.  You don't actually know what will be right for her, and you are basing your opinion on whatever PR you have heard about the school - not on YOUR actual experience.  [/quote]
No, actually, I am not.  I am basing it my actual experience.  I do believe her life will missing something if she is not accepted.  She will not be destitute and doomed for failure, no, but she will be missing out on a huge opportunity and the right fit.[/quote]
