A lot of moms say stupid things in the moment. There was a thread in general parenting about moms wanting to hit their kids and having to hold themselves back. When you're bipolar, emotions are more extreme. Yes, the kids 100% need to be protected. But also remember that mom is hurting, scared, alone, confused, ashamed, and hates herself way more than anyone else could. She needs help, she needs to be hospitalized and that should be your goal. Talk her into it, have an intervention, contact her psychiatrist for assistance. [/quote]
