Why would anyone buy a coffee maker that could only function with packets? This is ours - http://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/saeco-odea-giro-plus-espresso-machine-with-optidose-ii And no, we didn't pay over $400 for it, although at the time it was a little over $200. And what happens when the coffee packets are no longer being manufactured?
Why would anyone buy a coffee maker that cost $200-$400?
I bought one when they first came out and were more expensive. I have been using it for going on 5 years now. I wanted a single cup maker because I have a serious coffee problem. I am the only coffee drinker in the house and used to drink an entire 12 cup pot of coffee everyday. This is clearly too much coffee. The single use brewer helps me limit my daily coffee drinking to 3 cups. As I mentioned above, getting the grind correct on a French press is too much for me to handle early in the morning.
