They don't take 4-year-olds in kindergarten. However, as you noted, if a child starts private K a year ahead of their eligibility for FCPS, they can test into first grade in FCPS. In other words, a 4-year-old can't start kindergarten in FCPS, but a five-year-old can test into first grade.[/quote]
