Certain sports require lessons to learn to play properly. I gave my kid swimming lessons, even though he was on a swim team. He needed more help than the swim coach was giving him. Soccer could be the same thing, if the child is really interested and wants or requests the extra help. If it's just to pad the parents' egos, then the money would be better set aside for a psychotherapy fund for the child when s/he gets old enough to realize how self-absorbed her parents are. [/quote]
