Mom will do as she pleases and a couple of kids (to her) are not going to tell her what to do. The most BF or OP can do is say "We love you. You have a drinking problem. You should do something about it. It's harmful to you. It's harmful to me." And then stay the hell away from her until she gets better or dies. I'm sorry, OP. My mom died 4 years ago in a single car accident, while under the influence. My brothers and I tried everything under the sun. Nothing worked. People get better when they are ready or they die. The situation with my mother put a huge strain on my marriage. It was not fair to my husband. You might want to think about whether this guy is really a long term prospect for you. [/quote]
