I just started treatment because I have trouble ovulating on my own.  It took us a year of trying for #2 to get to an RE, partially because of the out of pocket cost, partially because we were in denial.

Our insurance is similar to yours in that it covers diagnostics but not treatment.  To our surprise, we found out last month that a medicated timed intercourse cycle is actually considered diagnostics.  Apparently, insurance will cover all the monitoring and bloodwork in a timed intercourse cycle, regardless of the medication.  The meds are not covered, but a Clomid+Trigger cycle only ran us $100 in meds.  Injectables will definitely be more expensive, but still something to check out, especially if cost is a major hold-up for you.  [/quote]

This was our experience, also.  We did injectables and timed intercourse for two successful pregnancies (plus 2 failed cycles), and paid less than $500 out of pocket for everything combined.  I think I spent almost as much in fancy chocolates to help myself feel better throughout our years struggling with infertility.[/quote]
