I'm jealous your stories were shared. There are several stories (including Holocaust stories) that my family chose to let die out. It's certainly their right and I might have made the same choice, but I wish I knew more.[/quote]

He was fortunate enough to escape the worst of it (although he has no idea what happened to several family members, including his older sister), but he always said that people won't know the stories if we don't share them.  It was difficult for him at times, especially recalling the friends and family he lost, and he didn't always want to talk about it, but when he passed, he left everything detailing this time (journals, letters, attempts to locate missing family) to my dad with a promise that his stories would continue to be told.  DS is too young to hear anything now, but I do look forward to the day that I can tell him about his great grandfather, whom he's named after.  [/quote]
