With all the crap we have to deal with we do not go looking for problems. And to OP - play nice to start, as others have said builder wants good relations. And if he is reasonable then be reasonable. Realize that guys that work in the trades do not have the same mentality as those that work in offices; treat them like you would want to be treated. They will not have the political correctness of office politics though. If you become an asshole they will call you on it. And they can be bigger assholes trust me.
